The Lake House is on a site in Sonoma with a private lake.  The house is located on the bank of the lake, next to a giant oak. Behind, the site mounds up to a plateau with an existing swimming pool and barn, and vineyards beyond. The house is an L on top of which a u is placed, forming an open central court and a covered outdoor dining area overlooking the lake. The lower L is against the berm and houses the living room, kitchen, dining and media areas. The entry is on the north, from a parking court, crossing a bridge over a pond. An outdoor dining space is under the master suite above. The top bar contains the sleeping areas, first two guest bedrooms, and then the master suite facing the lake and connected to the pool. All the service elements float in the open bars. Walls of sliding glass dissolve the building on both levels.
